Jr. Workers’ Compensation Claims Advocate Position

This position is with a risk management technology firm. This is a remote position though candidates should be based in one of the following areas to access the office and clients when necessary: San Diego, Los Angeles, SF Bay Area, Sacramento.

In this role, the advocate will learn from and support the Workers’ Compensation Claims Advocate team by gathering the necessary data they need to synthesize, analyze, and make recommendations to customers. Duties include daily interaction with multiple employers, claim examiners, insurance brokers and internal claims advocates. The right candidate must have strict organizational ability to set and adhere to tight diaries following up on activities that achieve the desired results. The right person is compassionate and empathetic, yet firm and confident in making recommendations to employers and claims handlers.

Responsibilities:

This job requires professionalism and a basic technical knowledge of risk management and Workers’ Compensation insurance.

  • Gathering loss data and building loss analysis reports from which Sr. Advocates will analyze and make recommendations to customers.

  • Establishing relationships with multiple carrier and broker contacts for data gathering efficiency.

  • Supporting our data gathering for our Insurance Agency partner Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).

  • Management of customer tasks and updating our task management system within our SaaS portal for clients to monitor.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Power Point, which is a requirement to create professional deliverables. • Analytical ability and an excellent memory for details are a requirement.

  • Building relationships with multiple employers, brokers, and claims handlers is needed to ensure success.

This role will also entail providing support services to additional internal teams of Customer Success and Agency Success. Responsibilities include:

  • New client onboarding set up utilizing Salesforce, Salesforce Communities and MSFT Suite applications.

  • Providing assistance in supporting customers within our INSITE portal.

  • Assisting with customer feedback initiatives and email campaign data gathering.

  • Supporting the service team on various administrative activities.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher • 2+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims assistant or examiner experience.

  • Prior brokerage, carrier/ TPA claim examiner, or private employer Workers’ Compensation position a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
